Michael Drossner is an experienced courtroom advocate that has established a reputation for aggressive and successful litigation on behalf of his clients. Importantly, Mr. Drossner takes great pride in spending time with his clients, and their family members, to discuss the complicated legal issues which they are facing.
Prior to opening Drossner Law, Mr. Drossner worked for a premier white-collar litigation boutique in Philadelphia. At that firm, Mr. Drossner was responsible for representing clients during all stages of government investigations and proceedings as well as conducting trials in both federal court and state court. Mr. Drossner knows that the best result for a client under investigation by the government is to prevent prosecution altogether or, if charges have already been filed, to avoid the expense and publicity of trial. To that end, Mr. Drossner counseled numerous clients and conducted investigations prior to the filing of charges, and he successfully convinced law enforcement in many cases to either not file charges or to withdraw charges in appropriate circumstances. Of course, Mr. Drossner also assisted clients by leading investigations in preparation for trial and vindicating his client’s rights in the courtroom. Finally, Mr. Drossner helped clients that had previously been convicted and needed new counsel to handle their appeals, including state court appeals, federal court direct appeals, and post-conviction collateral appeals.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Drossner worked in the public sector as a staff attorney for the prestigious Defender Association of Philadelphia where he represented indigent individuals charged with committing state criminal offenses. As an assistant defender, Mr. Drossner tried, literally, hundreds of cases to verdict and represented thousands of other individuals charged with offenses ranging from forgery and credit card fraud to rape, robbery and attempted murder. In addition, Mr. Drossner handled numerous DUI and narcotics cases during his tenure at the Defender Association. Significantly, Mr. Drossner conducted countless investigations and retained expert witnesses to establish difficult theories in his cases, many of which were successful at pretrial motions or during trial. In addition, he successfully appealed numerous cases which were reversed after briefs were filed and argument conducted before a higher court.
Mr. Drossner holds a Masters Degree in Trial Advocacy (LL.M.) from Temple University Law School, and a traditional law degree (J.D.) from Villanova University School of Law. At graduation, he was honored with Villanova Law School’s Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy. Mr. Drossner obtained a B.A. from Penn State University’s University Park campus.
While attending Villanova Law School, Mr. Drossner was an intern with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, and the Honorable James J. Fitzgerald, III, currently a Senior Judge for the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. At Villanova, he was also President of the Criminal Law Society and a member of the Litigation and Trial Law Society. During college, Mr. Drossner worked for the Honorable Bradley P. Lunsford, currently a Judge for the Centre County Court of Common Pleas.
