    Once again, Mr. Drossner was named as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer in the field of Criminal Defense by Philadelphia Magazine and Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Magazine, a designation received by no more than 5% of attorneys in the state.

    Mr. Drossner was appointed to the Whitemarsh Township Board of Supervisors where he serves on a five-member board responsible for the township budget and all aspects of operations including police, fire, zoning, code enforcement, parks and recreation, and public works.

    Mr. Drossner presented a Continuing Legal Education Seminar, at the Montgomery County Bar Association, regarding expungement practice and expungement law in Pennsylvania.

    Michael Drossner was named as a Super Lawyer in the field of Criminal Defense by Philadelphia Magazine and Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Magazine.  The final list is comprised after comprehensive research regarding 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement, and then through evaluations by a blue-ribbon panel.  Significantly, no more than 5% of the attorneys in Pennsylvania receive this distinguished honor.

    Michael Drossner completed a one-year membership on a dissertation panel at Drexel University regarding the use of forensic mental health experts by criminal defense lawyers.  Throughout the process, Mr. Drossner was responsible for reviewing the Ph.D. student's proposal, statistics, analysis, and conclusions to determine if there was a valid issue for consideration.

    Every year, since 2007, that the award has been published, Michael Drossner has been selected as a Rising Star Super Lawyer in the field of Criminal Defense by Philadelphia Magazine and Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Magazine...and this year was no different.  The Rising Star listing is the result of extensive research and polling of Pennsylvania Super Lawyers, the top 5 percent of attorneys in the state. Super Lawyers are asked to vote for the best attorneys who are either 40 or under or who have been practicing law for 10 or fewer years. The final list includes the top 2.5 percent of the best up-and-coming attorneys in the state of Pennsylvania.

    Mr. Drossner was a panelist for a Pennsylvania Bar Institute ("PBI") program regarding the constitutional right to competent counsel for all individuals charged with committing crimes.  Significantly, this event was held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Gideon v. Wainwright, which established that the criminally accused do have a constitutional right to counsel, and the program discussed whether Gideon's promise was being fulfilled by our nation's indigent defense system, which suffers from inadequate funding, personnel shortages and high caseloads.

    Mr. Drossner was formally elected Judge of Elections in Whitemarsh Township, Montgomery County, a position which  Mr. Drossner was appointed to for the previous two years.  As the Judge of Elections, Mr. Drossner is responsible for staffing the polling location, supervising the poll workers, and ensuring a fair and impartial Election Day process.

    Michael Drossner was a panelist for “The Intersection of Civil Suits and Criminal Allegations” sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute on February 27. During the program, Michael spoke about whether an individual may invoke his or her constitutional right to remain silent during a civil proceeding and whether a civil suit can be stayed, or stopped, while a criminal case is pending.

  • January 2012

    Michael Drossner was named, by Montgomery County Commissioners Josh Shapiro and Leslie Richards, to the Public Safety Transition Team. As part of the public safety committee, Michael and his colleagues will review and evaluate the budget, policies and procedures for various, Montgomery County, law enforcement organizations, namely, the District Attorney’s Office, the Public Defender’s Office, Adult and Juvenile Probation, the county prison, and others.

    Michael Drossner was appointed as a Judge of Elections in Montgomery County for the term expiring in 2014. As the Judge of Elections, Michael is responsible for all Election Day activities and personnel, at the voting poll in Whitemarsh Township, to ensure a fair election for all parties, candidates, voters and the general public.
