Mr. Drossner was a panelist for a Pennsylvania Bar Institute (“PBI”) program regarding the constitutional right to competent counsel for all individuals charged with committing crimes.  Significantly, this event was held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Gideon v. Wainwright, which established that the criminally accused do have a constitutional right to counsel, and the program discussed whether Gideon’s promise was being fulfilled by our nation’s indigent defense system, which suffers from inadequate funding, personnel shortages and high caseloads.
